Club Chairman Michael Vaughan was proud to receive the award for Aegon Surrey Club of the Year 2016 from former world number 11 player, Wimbledon semi finalist, and Davis Cup player, Roger Taylor MBE.

Purley Bury Tennis Club has made incredible progress during the past two years, and the award recognises the fantastic contribution made by the committee, the volunteers, the coaching team, and most importantly the members, all of whom work very hard to make our club stand out.

With the Aegon National Coach of the Year 2015 developing our young talent and providing coaching opportunities for new and current members, our hard earned Tennis Mark + award denoting the strength of our financial and management controls, an enthusiastic and hard working committee, and a committed group of volunteers prepared to make the effort to keep the grounds looking smart, the buildings in good repair, and the bar running profitably, Purley Bury is set to continue the rate of progress that we have all enjoyed recently. The final key ingredient is the cheerful, friendly members, and the quality of tennis played every single week of the year.

Having received this prestigious award acknowledging our club as the best in the County, we are committed to stepping up the standard to ensure that Purley Bury Tennis Club remains the best place to play tennis in Surrey!
